TCS1416监视Type-C配置通道（CC）线路，以确定何时连接USB设备。如果连接了灌电流器件，则TCS1416通过P-MOSFET向VBUS供电。卸下水槽设备后，开关将关闭，并将VBUS放电至安全电压。

由于集成了自动检测和自动切换电路，TCS1416可以在USB数据线上自动应用正确的电子签名，以便为Apple，Samsung和BC1.2 DCP模式下的兼容设备充电。

当电源功率增加到6.5V或C型连接器的温度达到NTC电阻设定的极限值时，TCS1416可以关闭P-MOSFET，以保护设备。
