Release Notes for the Winter 09 Service Pack 3 Release of altium Designer
Winter 09 Service Pack 3 Build 8.3.0.16776 (from Build 8.2.0.16457)
PCB
Fixed excessive CPU usage in DirectX mode when moving the cursor but nothing on the screen was redrawing.
Fixed the issue causing certain Quadro cards to reboot after repouring a polygon under Windows XP SP2.
Fixed partial screen redraws in DirectX when zooming with CTRL + mouse wheel.
A second issue with align face with board, which caused inconsistent flipping, has now been fixed.
Fixed crashes in DirectX mode when placing snippets.
PCB documents and libraries which contain embedded STEP will no longer save the original path, and will not attempt to access those locations. Previously this could cause significant slowdowns if the model came from a network path.
Fixed an access violation with using the interactive route tool to place a via with the '/' key to a plane layer.
Updating a component's footprint from schematic will now always do a full update of the footprint.
Removed various occasional delays related to dialog windows popping in front of the main window, such as at the beginning and end of a mouse zoom.
Fixed the hang crash in interactive router that would sometimes occur when switching layers and with the options enabled for Follow The Mouse and LookAhead.
Schematic
A crash in CloseObject that could occur when closing a schematic library which has visible Comments and Designators while the SCH Inspector panel is displayed has been fixed.
System-Level
In the past, the allegro importer did not translate the PCB design correctly if the user unit was in centimeters, inches or microns. This issue is now fixed.
The Telesis netlister no longer converts the last _ in each net name to /.
Publish To PDF with the Generate a separate PDF file for each output option no longer converts \ characters in the file name to _ .
Generated CSV Pick and Place files no longer get the extension ".txt" when the option "Use the output name as the filename instead of the default" is enabled.
The Design Item ID column in the Footprint Manager is now filled in.
A floating point oveRFlow error in the orcad SCH exporter involving elliptical arcs with major and minor radius of 0 has been fixed.
Library Management
A crash in IntegratedLibrary.DLL that could occur after choosing a component in a schematic sheet while a database library is displayed in the Library Panel has been fixed.
A list index out of bounds error that sometimes happened when executing a Library Search with field names that do not exist in any available library has been fixed. The operator combo boxes also do not come up blank if there are no available project or installed libraries.
